Bacchetta Rider Spotlight

Marilyn Hayward

Hey John & Rich!
: -)
Well, attached is a picture from today from my "triumphant assault" on Mt. Saint Helens on "Tour de Blast" - 84 miles of thigh-burning pleasure! I have done this ride twice before today on an upright and suffered to the top, at the Johnston Ridge Observatory, 5 miles from the crater. Today was one of the BEST rides of my entire life! And it was my Bacchetta Aero that was the reason!!!

The last four miles of this ride are up to 18% in places and I am proud to say that, although I stopped, got off the bike and rested several times (You know that I am missing part of a lung from cancer, so that limits me quite a bit), I never walked the bike up ANY of the ride. I can't say the same thing for the 2 times doing this ride on my DF!!! This was AWESOME!!!! My average speed pales in comparison to you folks, so I am not going to humiliate myself by typing it, but I made my best time ever on the ride and also got up to 45.3 mph. A LOT of roadies took note as the middle-aged gal went smokin' by them on the flats and down the hills and asked a lot of questions at rest stops..

At the top at Johnston Ridge Observatory, there was a wonderful group of young DF riders in team attire and they were hooked on the Aero. They're the ones who took my picture (attached). I gave them the full run down - they even took pictures of the bike on their cameras and they were talking amongst themselves about test riding an Aero ASAP. Spreading the word, I am!!!! And I love to, because I am a total Bacchetta Believer, as corny as that may sound. The cancer damage to my shoulder makes it hard to do an overhead lift like in the picture, but the adrenaline that was pumping for the pleasure of the ride gave me what I needed to boost Ms. Bianca Bacchetta over my head in salute to you, Rich and John.

It was a GREAT day - thank you for having the creativity and skills to bring such a wonderful creation into the market place so people like me can continue to ride!

Your Fan (and unofficial "saleswoman" ;-)
