Riding Background:
No formal riding background. 2006 was the first year I had ridden a bicycle in 30 years. I started out on a Bacchetta Cafe. I loved that bike.

2007: I rode my first team event-500 mile Texas Time Trial event-1st place.
2008: Texas Time Trial, mixed team, 500 mile event-2nd place overall.
2009: Texas Time Trial, solo 24 hour event-2nd place overall.
2009: completed ACP Randonneuring series (200,300,400,& 600K) & 8+k randonneuring
2009: Lone Star Randonneuring Most Improved of the year award.
2009: RUSA-R-12 award for riding at least a 200k+ in 12 consecutive months.
2009: UMCA Year rounder award.
2010: HC600k - 4 person team (John Schlitter, Sara Kay Carrell, Peggy & myself)-377 miles ridden in 20hrs, 39mins.
2010: Sebring, 24-hour solo, 359.4 miles ridden, 1st place in my age division.
2010: ACP Fleche, Easter weekend 2010.

How did you get into Recumbents?
After 4 consecutive years of back surgeries, I knew an upright bike was out of the question. My wife (Peggy) rode a pay ride one Saturday, I sat on the sidelines like a slug, & said "no more." Peggy suggested that I look at the recumbent's at the pay ride. The following Monday I went to Plano Cycle & Fitness and bought a Bacchetta Cafe. I've graduated to the CA2.0. Awesome bike.

What Bacchetta do you ride?
CA2.0  pre-production prototype, with blue bar-end tape. I'm a one-bike person.

2009 Race results:
2nd place overall-24 hour Texas Time Trial. It was the one & only race I entered for the year

Personal Best Rides:
First time participating at a solo event, 24 hour solo at the Texas Time Trials-2nd place overall.
I had no clue (and still don't) what I was doing.

Riding with John Schlitter, Sara Kay Carrell, and Peggy at the 2010 HC600k, self crewed and still rode the 377 miles in 20hrs, 39mins. The bar has been set.

And every time I ride the CA2.0, there are no bad rides on this bike.
